Wheaten Scottish Terrier
The Wheaten Scottish Terrier is a true terrier. Although many dogs are known for being yappy, the Scottie doesn't fit this description, they are much too dignified for it! Today these adorable guys enjoy their reputation as family pets but they were always meant to be working animals and will be happier with some jobs. The Wheaten Scottish Terrier can do many different little tricks which makes them perfect for modelling and acting.
These dogs are independent, feisty and sometimes excitable and that’s why these dogs are described as “big dogs in a little dog’s body”. Unlike some other dog breeds, the Wheaten Scottish Terriers don’t require as much attention from owners or other people. These dogs are usually around 10 inches tall and weigh around 8 – 10 kgs.
The Wheaten Scottish Terrier informally and affectionately called Scotties for short originated in Aberdeen. These dogs were bred to hunt Foxes, Badgers, Rabbits etc, that live in underground dens. These little guys are one of the oldest breeds in existence, with records dating back to 17th century England. However, it wasn’t until the late 1800s that this pup became popularised and developed into what we know today as Wheaten Scottish terriers.
At Urban Paws, we are committed to the mental and physical well-being of our dog breeds so that they are available for hire straight away. This means they are safe to work in modelling or acting in various environments.
